PROBLEMS!!!
Many young people have times when they are just not getting on at home with their family, in school or out and about with friends and society.
It happens in different ways. Some seem more angry and rebellious than normal. Some lose interest in things or dont communicate with family or friends. Some wont or cant concentrate or study as well as others think they should. Some become fearful of some or of situations or lose confidence in their own ability. Individual or family support can help. Sometimes another view of a situation can help someone or those around them to use skills they already have |
BRIEF THERAPY
A small number of meetings (maybe one) may be enough to develop solutions using skills and resources that people already have. Looking at a situation in a different way with an experienced professional can bring change. Looking for solutions is sometimes more helpful than analyzing the past.
ANALYTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY
Some, however, need or want to spend more time exploring what brought them to where they are. Analytic Psychotherapy takes place over longer periods (months or even more). Regular sessions explore the unconscious mechanisms that made our earlier life experience influence how we are now. Depending on our age and what feels best, analysis of play or dreams or free association of thought can bring better understandings of why we are what we are. This can enable change and better coping.
SPECIALIST THERAPIES
Some issues respond to specialised treatments and have been scientifically shown to work. Post Traumatic Conditions are an example in which Gordon has particular interest, evidence based training and experience
